Get Ready for Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball!
Hey baseball fans! This weekend, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are kicking off their 2026 season right here in Lafayette against the Missouri State Bears. It’s exciting that they’re meeting for the first time since 1997! The first game will be on Friday, February 13, at 2 p.m. at M.L. Tigue Moore Field. The fun continues with games on Saturday and Sunday too!
Meet the Teams
The Ragin' Cajuns are hoping to bounce back this year after a tough season in 2025. They ended with a record of 27-31, and Coach Matt Deggs has been focusing on building a tough and resilient team. There are 19 new players on the team this season, bringing fresh energy! Keep an eye on returning stars like Lee Amedee and Jose Torres, who are ready to step up their game.
On the other side, the Missouri State Bears have been hitting home runs like crazy! They ranked 7th in the nation last year for slugging and they’ve got some serious power hitters this season, making them a team to watch. Head Coach Joey Hawkins has infused a lot of talent, with many new players joining the lineup.
Special Parking and Mardi Gras Celebration!
With the Mardi Gras excitement in the air, fans can take advantage of several parking options around the Cajun Field complex. Starting Friday, free parking for the series will be available at Gate 5. There will also be shuttles to make getting to the game easier. So, wear your purple, green, and gold and let’s celebrate both baseball and Mardi Gras!
